Mainspring Board Actions

Data & Account Deletion

How to delete your Mainspring account, what is erased, and how your shared board work is anonymized as “Former Board Volunteer.”

Delete in the app (fastest)

  1. Open Mainspring and go to My MBA Profile → About & legal → Delete my account.
  2. Read what will happen, type DELETE, and confirm.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If you are the only primary admin of a board, the app asks you to make someone else primary admin first, so the board isn’t left without one.

Request deletion by email

If you can’t use the app, email privacy@mainspringboard.com from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. We confirm it’s you, then delete your account within 30 days and email you when it’s done.

What is deleted

The right to be forgotten: anonymization

Board work is a shared record of the organization, so it stays with your board, but it is anonymized. Your name is replaced with the tag “Former Board Volunteer”, with no name, email or other personal details attached:

  • action items you created or completed, comments, hand-offs and activity history;
  • network companies you added (company names and counts only; no contact data was ever stored);
  • meeting minutes your board has already published.

Deleting a whole board

A board’s primary admin can ask us to close the board’s workspace and delete all of its data by emailing privacy@mainspringboard.com. We delete it within 30 days.

Backups

Deleted data is removed from our backups as they roll off, within 30 days.
